How Does XFile Work: XFile program allows you to create up to 16 virtual encrypted drives on your hard drive and/or other external storage devices. Once a user created a virtual encrypted drive, that drive is assigned with a new drive letter and appears to the user like any other system drives (like the A: or C: Drives). When the encrypted drive is mounted by inserting XFile. The data is automatically encrypted and decrypted when the user writes or reads this data respectively. XFile encrypts and decrypts all data stored on the encrypted drive(s) with virtually no performance penalty.
